As a friend of Ruth’s (from our student days), I often visited Southampton including staying at Audrey and John’s once or twice before Ruth had the flat.

I remember my phone conversations with Audrey while Ruth was in Canada and I was planning to go out to visit at the end of the school year.  Ruth and I talked about these recently.

Ruth was married a number of years before me.  When it was my turn and I thanked Audrey for their card she expressed her excitement.  How kind.
